Support for Charities & Community Organisations
Supporting your people
If your charity or community organisation supports people caring for someone affected by cancer, I can help you create coaching programmes shaped around the needs of your community.
Together, we can provide people with a warm, confidential space to feel heard, connect with others and explore practical ways to support their own wellbeing.

Coaching shaped around your community
Every organisation and community is different, which is why I don’t offer a rigid, one-size-fits-all course.
I will work with you to understand the people you support, the challenges they face and what you would like the programme to achieve. Together, we can develop something that complements your existing services and responds to the particular needs of your community.
Let’s create something together that makes a difference to the people you support.

Supporting the people who support others
When someone is diagnosed with cancer, attention naturally centres on the person receiving treatment. Meanwhile, partners, relatives and friends may be managing caring responsibilities alongside work, family life and their own feelings about what is happening.
They may become so accustomed to carrying on that they have little opportunity to consider how caring is affecting their own lives.
What coaching can explore...
My coaching creates a warm, confidential space where people can:
-
Talk honestly with others who understand
-
Recognise the impact cancer is having on their own lives
-
Manage their energy and wellbeing
-
Set healthier boundaries
-
Handle difficult emotions
-
Ask for and accept support
-
Reconnect with their own needs and identity
-
Develop practical ways to move forward

Experienced and thoughtful delivery
I have designed and delivered commissioned coaching programmes for people caring for someone with cancer, both in person and online.
Participants have valued being able to speak honestly with people in similar circumstances, feel less alone and leave with practical ideas they can use in everyday life.
My approach is warm and inclusive, recognising that every person’s experience is different.

Organisations I’ve worked with...
Sussex Cancer Fund
I’ve worked alongside Sussex Cancer Fund for the past three years.
Read about their experience of our partnership and the difference they’ve seen the coaching make to the people they support.

Sussex Cancer Fund has worked in partnership with Sue for the past three years, providing one-to-one life coaching to people affected by cancer across Sussex. It is an absolute pleasure to work with Sue. As a sole trader working alongside our charity and local health services, she is consistently professional, organised, reliable and empathetic. She understands the importance of working collaboratively and provides us with clear communication, thoughtful feedback and reassurance that every client is receiving a highly personal and supportive service. Sue is also a wonderful ambassador for Sussex Cancer Fund, and we feel privileged to be able to offer her coaching to oncology patients across Sussex. The feedback we receive is consistently excellent. In our most recent quarterly survey, 100% of respondents said they would recommend the service. Clients described gaining greater confidence, clarity and control, alongside practical tools to help them identify realistic goals and take meaningful steps forward. They particularly value Sue’s patience, compassion and expertise, as well as her ability to create a safe and supportive relationship while keeping the coaching practical and action-focused. We have seen how Sue’s coaching can help people navigate significant changes relating to work, wellbeing, finances and life during and after cancer treatment. Clients have told us that the service has helped them rebuild their self-belief, regain a sense of purpose and feel more positive about the future. Sue combines genuine warmth and empathy with professionalism and a clear focus on outcomes. We would have no hesitation in recommending her to any third-sector or healthcare organisation seeking an experienced, compassionate and highly effective one-to-one coach. PLANETS Cancer Charity
I’ve worked with PLANETS charity to develop coaching for people caring for someone with cancer.
Here, they reflect on working together and what carers valued most about the sessions.

PLANETS charity has really enjoyed working with Sue to provide group coaching for people caring for someone with cancer. She took the time to understand what our carers needed and created a programme that felt warm, practical and relevant to their everyday lives. Sue gave participants a supportive space to pause and think about their own wellbeing, something that can so easily get lost when caring for someone else. The sessions helped them feel heard, build confidence, set better boundaries and find practical ways to manage some of the pressures they were facing. The feedback from carers was very positive. They valued Sue’s approachable style, the connection with others in similar situations and the useful tools they could take away and use. Sue was professional, flexible and very easy to work with, and we look forward to working with her again. Layla Stephen, PLANETS Cancer Charity Director of Strategy and Finance
