Hello, I'm Sue
I’m a qualified life coach specialising in supporting people whose lives have been changed by cancer - whether you’ve had a diagnosis yourself, or you’re a family member, friend or carer living alongside someone who has.
Cancer has touched both my personal and professional life and I understand that its impact can reach far beyond treatment.

My connection to cancer
My connection with cancer care began in my very first job as a medical secretary at the Sussex Cancer Centre. That experience stayed with me and, many years later, helped shape the work I do today.
I’ve seen cancer up close through my family, my work and the many people I’ve supported over the years. I have had the privilege of coaching people as they navigate life beyond treatment, rebuild confidence and reconnect with what matters most to them. I have also coached people who care for friends and family with a cancer diagnosis. Many of them share some of the same challenges as the people that they care for.
People sometimes ask me whether I can really coach someone through life after cancer when I haven’t had cancer myself. But I believe that this is where my strength as a cancer coach really lies. I don’t arrive with assumptions about your experience or my own personal cancer story. Instead, I bring the space, curiosity and compassion to hear yours.
Every person’s experience of cancer is unique and coaching works best when there is room for your own answers to emerge.

What you can expect from me
A space where you can be yourself
You’ll be met with warmth, compassion and no judgement. You don’t need to arrive with the right words, a clear goal or everything already figured out. My coaching style has been described as pragmatic and supportive.
Coaching that is led by you
I believe you know yourself and your life better than anyone else. I won’t tell you what to do, but I’ll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and help you uncover your own answers.
Encouragement along the way
Making changes isn’t always easy. I’ll be there to encourage you, gently challenge you and help you stay accountable to the steps you choose to take.
If your life has been affected by cancer and you would like some support finding your way forward, I’d be very happy to hear from you.
My vision
My vision is for a world where people affected by cancer are not left to simply “get on with it” once treatment ends, or to carry the weight of caring for others alone. A world where people feel seen, heard and supported throughout their cancer experience and beyond.
Because the life you’ve fought so hard for deserves more than survival. It deserves meaning, purpose, connection and joy.
And because the wake up call cancer brings shouldn’t have to disappear beneath the noise of everyday life.
Cancer can be a powerful clarifier. It has a way of cutting through the noise and reminding us what really matters.

My core values

Compassion
You deserve to feel heard, understood and supported without judgement.
Whatever your experience has been, there is space here for how you really feel, not how you think you should feel.

Clarity
When life has changed, it can be difficult to know what you want or where to begin.
Coaching gives you the space to step away from the noise, reconnect with what matters to you and find a way forward that feels right.

Empowerment
You are the expert in your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you recognise your strengths, trust yourself and make choices with greater confidence about what comes next.
Sharing my story
In October 2023, I had the privilege of speaking at a Share Your Story event hosted by the charity, Time to Talk Befriending.
This short video tells the story of why I coach and what I have learned in this change of direction in my career!
